Symbiosis

The Red Billed Oxpecker bird is a friend to many mammals.  They live on blood which they get from blood filled ticks that they take off the skin of the mammal and in doing so keep the animal disease free.  They will also take dead flesh from open wounds on the animal.  In this photo, the Oxpecker is hitching a ride from an Impala.
